Blackened leaves on photinia carre rouge

I had a carre rouge arrive today and quite a few of the red leaves and blackened and curling, the look almost burnt. See photos below. Can anyone tell me what this is? Should I return the tree, or plant it and treat it / hope for the best? Thanks.
