Transplanted red currant not happy

Hi everyone.

Made the  mistake of transplanting my red currant this week when the missus  priced it wasn’t fruiting. It’s not happy as the leaves seem to be wilting and dying. What can I do to help the plant recover from my mistake? I’ve attached a photo of the plant .

Really you need to cut it back quite hard.
When it was moved, a lot of the tiny roots that supply water and nutrients to the leaves were broken.
Now there are not enough roots to supply the leaves with the water they need, so the leaves droop then die.
You need to get the balance between leaves and roots right again and the only way to do that is is to loose the leaves.
I'm sure it'll come back ok next year, but keep it well watered for the rest of the season.

I moved a blackcurrant a couple of years ago, and didn't know whether it would survive, I cut it back but not too hard - it came back no problem  and it's fruiting now, so don't despair!
