Sweet pea colour changes

Hi I am very new to growing sweet peas. I purchased two colours. An orange and a dark purple. Grew them from seeds and the result is very different from the plants on the packaging. Is this because I planted them together? Is it my soil? Or have I been given the wrong seeds? :)

I think only one lot of seeds germinated. Very pretty, though.

No, you got the wrong seeds.  The sweet peas I have , two of the sorts don't match the description. I didn't order any purple ones but they seem to predominate.  Strangely I have a couple of matucanas in mine. They are very distinctive.

I collected seeds from ours over the years and this year having sown many seeds we have had a great success with the bicolour ones...no idea what the "official" name is but they are great and the perfume is also great.
