Sunflower confusion

Hi all - my partner brought back this small sunflower plant which seems to not be doing so well. I'm not too sure what variety it is (or whether it is 100% a sunflower) so hoping someone can give me some advice on how to help it thrive?

It looks like sunflower heads, but that pot is just way too small. It looks bone dry as well.
I've never grown sunflowers indoors either.

Don't know if it's too late to revive it.....there might be one flower head that looks viable and not dried out. If you get it in a much larger pot.

I think it is a sunflower,  but as @RoddersUK says, it really needs planting in a bigger pot or maybe even in the garden. Did your partner buy it from a garden centre or n maybe a supermarket where it was kept inside?
Personally l would cut off the flower heads and concentrate on giving it some fresh compost in a bigger pot outside or planting it in the ground and keeping a close eye on it. I think once it's released from the constraints of that pot it will be much happier .
  • Thanks yes I'll try and plant it outdoors and cut the heads. Hopefully that helps!
