Membrane alternatives

AdRockAdRock Posts: 241
Hi, I’m looking to put down some garden membrane primarily to stop tomatoes getting blight from the soil splashing up and someone mentioned they used cardboard. Does anyone know if this is a good idea, or maybe some other ideas what I can use instead? I don’t really want to use the plastic membrane like the one pictured.

My understanding of tomato blight is that the spores are airborne … don’t think any membrane will prevent it.

Agree with @Dovefromabove - covering the ground won't prevent blight unfortunately :)

That’s a shame, I think I’ll try and grow some blight tolerant varieties next year or kick some of the citrus out of the greenhouse!
