My monstera is very leggy!

Help Please. There are no leaves on the bottom of my monstera. Instead of it being a lovely bushy plant it’s very tall with not very big leaves. Any suggestions on how I can help it please.

    Another question please - would it survive in a conservatory? I just can’t seem to find it a happy place. Thanks Joyce x

    It looks as if it's only producing leaves where it can get enough light ... but I think many conservatories would be too bright for it ... have you got somewhere where the whole plant can be in 'filtered light'?

    Thanks for your response. I’ll try moving things around and find somewhere in the lounge. Do you think it will recover in better light? Should I repot it or give it a feed? I would hate to lose it.

    I have had a couple of Monstera which got out of control. I ended up taking off a cutting consisting of two leaves and a root node, and putting it in a vase of water. Eventually it sprouted roots, and I potted it up. Did the same again, and before long I have ended up with loads of monstera, they are all round the house and I have been giving them to friends to get rid of them! I’ve put markings on the photo, you could maybe try the top one and see how you get on? If it was mine, I’d do both, having seen how successful the process is. The original will probably start growing more leaves at the bottom.

    This is what happened to my old monstera! There were so many, I did have to put two cuttings in some of the pots.


    This is one of them now. They do seem very happy in shady areas of the house, corner of bathroom floor and the like. I do turn them round frequently to stop them heading towards the light and getting lop sided.
