Unidentified Flowering Plant

I have a plant that has appeared in my garden in the North of Scotland. The first time growing in the lawn, I pulled it all out. Then recently after a few weeks away from home I found it had come back growing in a few places, including from the side of steps and a little in the beds. This plant starts as low growing with broad leaves, then fairly quickly develops a long stem, with the leaves spaced out, then attractive trusses of flowers. I’ve attached some photographs. I have asked a number of very knowledgable and experienced gardener friends and a couple of Nursery owners, none of whom have been able to give me a conclusive ID of this plant. Though it is an attractive plant, it is quite a prolific grower and spreader, but if it’s something unusual, or interesting in other ways, I’d rather contain it than destroy it. My garden is part of an old Victorian Orchard and has mature plants and trees, so Ive even wondered if this may not be something typical to the area, since the Victorians loved bringing in different plant species. I have only seen this once elsewhere and that was when in NE Lancashire at the side of a road enclosed by drystone walls. I would be grateful for any information and to see if others have come across this?
