Honeysuckle leaves turning yellow with brown spots

Honeysuckle in a nice sunny spot isn't thriving very well, the leaves are turning yellow and have brown spots on them, and the flowers aren't doing too good either.  Any ideas on how I can buck up this lovely plant and make it grow faster/stronger?

@karenandjesslqEBf_sh I think it is probably a watering issue. No matter how much water you have given it this year it would like more. You don't say how long ago you planted it but climbers can take a few years to develop roots before they really start to climb. I would give it two of three cans eve or early am,then repeat weekly.

  • Thank you.  It was already in the garden when I moved here, 8 years ago.  I usually prune it in the winter, however someone suggested that if I didn't prune it, it may flower better.  But it hasn't  :(    I will water it more regularly.

A bucket full of water three times a week from the beginning of March to mid September … that’ll make it happy. 😊

Our honeysuckle came from my father who had it in a container in 1978. We still have it and it still flowers very well. We only prune back parts that are over the path.
  • Is 'grey' water (from washing-up bowl) ok to water honeysuckle?
