What's blooming?

Slow-wormSlow-worm Posts: 1,630
I'm excited that my new agapanthus buds are opening, and the tall phlox is coming out.
I put a couple of new penstemons in in spring, and one has just caught up with the rest.
Love in a mist has grown noticeably in the last couple of days too.
This makes me very happy!

@Slow-worm I won't have so many Agapanthus flowers as last year but never mind every season is different. I have Santolina Rosmarnifolia and it has never done so well think it has loved the dry conditions
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

Some is better than none though! 😊
I chopped a lavender a bit early and it's struggled a bit this year, and one of the penstemons is leggy because I didn't cut it back enough, everything else is doing well, despite the unending 'breeze' which has made one astrantia grow at a jaunty angle, lol!
Oh, I've got raspberries and blackcurrants on their way too!

@Slow-worm - I'm also excited to see my agapanthus blooming!  I bought them as bare roots 18 months ago and they didn't flower last year (maybe too young..).  They're just coming into bloom now and they look great!  The long flower stalks don't seem to mind a bit of a buffeting from the stiff breeze.

    Hurrah! 😁
Yeah mine are still sturdy, but the one which is sheltered has got much shorter, fatter buds coming - that's the one with unrestricted roots too!
