Why are the blossoms on this tree/shrub brown?

I am new to gardening and I would be grateful for some help with this tree. What is this tree and are the blossoms that were once a beautiful purple supposed to be brown now or has the tree got a problem

    no flower lasts forever, some plants drop the petals and some hang on to them and they turn brown brown. The pics are not very clear but could be Lilac which always hangs on to brown flower heads. Normal

    The bush is a Lilac, it flowers in the spring then the flowers die. There is nothing wrong with it, that’s what happens.

    You can cut them off but I leave mine as I’m lazy 😆.
