ERYNGIUM PLANUM JADE FROST

We planted a Eryngium planum jade frost the other day in JI3, compost and potting grit.

Today we've woken up and it's drooping alot. I've not seen anyway using a cane to support it. We watered it a little yesterday

Any ideas what's going on?

if the picture shows the 'problem', it's not drooping but leaning. Either the roots are not yet fully established, which is likely, or it is stretching for more light.
Ensure the roots are well firmed in, secure it to a bamboo cane and watch the watering. You have clearly taken note of the need for gritty soil and less water, but the topsy-turvy weather we're getting makes it hard to get things right. Keep an eye out for softening or a slight greying of the leaves, that will help you know when it is feeling thirsty :D

I have the normal planums in my garden and those flower spikes can get quite heavy and flop. They are fine if they have other plants to support themselves with but some do flop. I just pop a little support in to stop it getting in the way and normally in the next year when the plant is stronger, they grow straight on their own.
