Brown turkey fig blues.

My containered BTF has a variety of problems this year. Mostly, but not entirely,  pest- related.
I'm inclined to cut it back to sticks and  thus dispose of eggs and feed for whatever beasties don't  end up in the council bin.
Does this sound like a good plan? Cut it now or later?
I only grow it for foliage which is chewed and curly and cobwebby so a lost cause this year.
ps  I don't like figs😐
In London. Keen but lazy.
