Clematis cutting advice

I took a few C rhederiana cuttings following last months GW step by step guide. Some are long dead and some seem to be green and alive. I’ve got them under a prop gator lid in a shady spot outside but now it’s been a couple of weeks I’m not sure what the next step it. Can anyone advise?

Patience.  Remove the dead ones and look after the still green ones - occasional watering and keeping shaded.   They will take weeks and maybe months to produce enough roots to pot on but will be worth the wait.

  • Thanks. I’ve got one where the leaves have died but the stem is still green and looks like there may be growth at the top of the stem. Is this one dud or should I persevere?

Cuttings aren't an instant, or speedy, process. Very different from sowing seed of easy annuals, for example. Growth at the top of a cutting doesn't always mean there's root development. There's often enough energy remaining in the cutting to promote a little top growth, long before roots start.

Patience is what's needed, as @Obelixx says.  :)
