I uncovered it behind some weeds and tall grass against the north side of my house. So it must not need full sun to survive. The picture is after I clipped all the dead stuff off, so the form might be unusual. I had to lean a rock up against it to keep it from falling forward.
Years ago a neighbor gave it to me and said it was forsythia. I knew forsythia was not harmful to dogs so I planted it and gave it no more thought. Recently I was looking at a forsythia at a nursery and I see no resemblance. Obviously it has left me puzzled. Thank you for any help!!
