Watering Lawns

Just been out for a walk, someone was watering their front lawn with a sprinkler. No one around, water on the path. Got me cross. Thankyou for reading this, water is so very precious. 
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    Indeed.. I wish the planning tossers would realise that, and the stupidity of building on marsh flats like they do round here, stopping acres of water exchange, aside from the other environmental factors. 🤦‍♀️

    I think most people know that it just isn't necessary to water a lawn,it will soon grow back when it does rain. What really annoys me is all that water is purified for drinking.
    Our weather is geting warmer and drier we should be doing our best to conserve water not using sprinklers.
