Which insect is this on my tomato plants?

Hi All,

Came across this insect on my tomato plants. Does someone know what they are?

Regards,
Sam

    I'd say that's a male Blue-tailed Damselfly .... gorgeous things aren't they?  :dizzy:

I think it's Common Blue damselfly male.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

Just to be contrary I don't think it's either of those :)  Hard to tell though sorry. Have a look at the comparison photos on this page and you can work it out based on the pattern of black stripes on the side of the thorax. https://british-dragonflies.org.uk/species/azure-damselfly/ Too many stripes for the common blue by the looks of it and the tail isn't black enough for the blue-tailed.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
