Primula Propagation
in Plants
Hello, I'd like to collect seed from my Primula japonica. Could someone tell me what I'm looking at here?

Primula seed should be sown whilst it is still green, rather than the more normal way of waiting till the seeds go brown.

leave them on the plants until all of the flowers have dropped off then take the bottom ones, open them up and spread them straight on top of your tray/pot of compost, press them in, they’re sticky but do your best, don’t cover them with compost, put somewhere sheltered outside, keep damp at all times and they should start shooting by the autumn, You can then pot them up individually and keep sheltered until next Spring, then plant out.
