Hi guys,

visiting a friend who is very disappointed that an expensive cloud pruned plant she received for her 50th appears to have died. Can you see any obvious reasons in terms of diseases or position etc please?

Most likely not enough water. Potted shrubs need loads.

I should also say, the pot is pretty small for a big shrub and the compost level is very low, so there's not much there to support it and hold moisture.

Sadly, I'd say the short answer is Yes. Most likely the reasons offered by @JennyJ.
