Privet hedge partly dying
Privet hedge this year started showing some dead branches along the length of the hedge, one side only - with most of each plant looking fine. No individual plant looks heavily affected, so I guess it doesn't look like honey fungus. The other side of the hedge looks fine. It looks single planted, so the plants seen on the back are the same as on the front.
Any clues?

I have the same problem with a probably 50 year old hedge but in my case, whole plants in the middle of the hedge have just died off.
If you can, I would run a hosepipe on it for a couple of hours, then mulch it thickly at the base with well rotted manure and wait to see if it picks up.
