Bamboo roots being eaten 100's of white bugs and thousands of white eggs
Hello there I did have some glorious Black Bamboo but not so much now, I took it out of its pot and I can see these bugs, the root system has been savaged and I have about only 1/2 left which explains why the bamboo looks so incredibly sorry.
I have previously had a problem with Vine Weavel but these don't look like maggots, they look like below (Not an actual photo of mine as getting a photo was impossible but they're the same)
I've thrown out (into a skip) the compost and soil and I've soaked the roots and I'm washing off the remaining compost in a very big container, there are thousands of eggs on the surface of the water.
I'll repot but some of my other pot plants are looking a little unhappy so working out what these things are would be really useful so I can come up with a treatment I can't do this for every plant it's taken a day just for this bamboo and I have many other pots
All help gratefully accepted

Pesky blighters!!
Anyone have any experience of vine weevil outbreaks? I hate using chemicals
If only you had asked before you discarded all the soil.
Nematode is the best thing for containers, bit expensive for the garden though.
You need to use them twice a year, usually about March/April (as you can see, they’ve done their damage for this year) then again September/October to catch what’s been laid and hatched through the summer.
I've only seen a couple of vine weevils this year I of course kill them on sight.
Although the weather in may meant I wasn't out in the garden that much..
Any topical natural solutions for vine weevils? I can't be doing anything with neonicotinoids my garden is a Bee haven, most years there's a bumble Bee hive in a corner next to the conservatory. Not this year though
