Courgette curiosity

Courgette Tuscany coming along nicely, but I'm wondering if the sort of "bottle-nose" growth is normal? Also, second pic, is massive, verging a marrow! Should I pick it now?

Courgettes taste best when picked small so roughly finger sized to 6"/15cms.    I suggest you use those two to make a summery soup.

Regular picking encourages them to produce more as long as they are well fed and watered.

  • Thanks @Obelixx. These seem to have come in like this quite quickly while my back was turned. The perils of a full-time job 😒

They do it to me too and I'm retired but get busy with other bits of the garden or other interests.   Try and check them every couple of days when you get in from work and you'll soon get the knack of not producing zeppelins.
