Wisteria failed suddenly

My mature wisteria bloomed magnificently this year, one day it was in full bloom, the next day half of it drooped dramatically and looks dead. The leaves have withered and dropped off. It was regularly watered, fed and I pruned it twice yearly. I can't see any fungus, bugs or breaks in its bark. Any ideas what I should do?
