Does anyone recognise these flowers?

Self seeded in my garden last year, late flowering and beautiful.   I hoped they would grow back this year but not so and I have been unable to identify them.  Maybe wild flowers?

Can anyone help?

Tks

    Welcome.
Bigger pictures with more detail and from a distance would be better for ID.

Tks for the prompt replies!  You are spot on -Nicandra physaloides it most certainly is.  Sorry about my poor pix - never did learn how to use a camera!  These will be on my seed list for next spring.  Brilliant, hugely grateful.

If you have one plant you should be able to take seeds off it quite easily.

It seems to selfseed successfully … pops up in my veg patch most summers.

Some of my self seeders also produce plants with variegated leaves.  Flower colour is the same on both.

This all looks very encouraging.  Easy to grow and self seeding are just the ticket for a newbie like me.  I took a further look around my garden between the heavy showers today and I can't see any self seeders at all from last year.  I've also looked in gardens on my walking routes and asked a few neighbours but none to be found.  The local nursery couldn't help either.  Same with foxgloves - everywhere last two years, hardly any 2002! Tks again for your comments.
