Plants are growing well in the new border and provides a much nicer view from the patio than looking at just lawn.
The main purpose of the new border was a space to have plants for bees, and the cornflowers, geraniums, delphiniums and basil are certainly attracting them
Great to see the progress and I love the colour scheme.
Thanks, but any colour scheme success is by chance, I chose plants that are good for bees which often happen to be blue/purple, the rest just fell into place.
My top bee friendly plant at the moment is the buddleja globosa which is in another part of the garden next to my pond, I like it so much I'm trying to grow some more from cuttings...
@LeadFarmer The beautiful lemon flowers in your photo are Cephalaria gigantea.More commonly known as Lemon Scabious. It's a mouthful like many Latin names. If you dig some up and pass to friends it will be helpful. Could be related to cornflowers but not sure. I was given a book of Latin plant names by a lady I worked for didn't see the need at first but then realised just how important it is understood by everyone no matter where they are in the World. Your colour schemes are lovely even if by chance!
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

Thanks Sue, yes you are correct, scabious, thanks.
I started with one plant rescued from a school that was digging up a border to build an extension. I've lifted and divided it over the years into what you see in the photo, and I have more plants potted up with nowhere to put them
Tell me about it @LeadFarmer What is the variety of the hardy geranium in your first photo please ?
I already had them in the garden when I moved into this house in 2007, again I lifted and divided them over the years and now have spares potted up that I need to give away. I don't know the variety, I assume Johnsons Blue but can't say for sure.
