Weevils in strawberry pot.

Good evening friendly gardeners of the internet. I have some strawberries in quite large pots on my patio. They have lots of small fruits but none grow very big. I was tidying up the old leaves when I noticed a couple of weevils. I don’t know what type they are or if they’ve laid eggs. What can I do to get rid of them or to rescue the strawberry plants? I squished the ones I found.

    Nematode drench?

I don’t think you can use a drench on edibles.  You may want to try nematodes,  you’ll need to apply them again in the autumn.

If you're sure they are weevils, you can remove the plants, wash them thoroughly, and then replant in fresh soil/compost.
Empty out the old stuff and, if you can, spread it out somewhere for the birds. If you can't do that, then go through it and pick them out and dispatch. It's not easy if there's a lot of soil, but it'll ensure you get rid of them all.

Your plants will recover, and if you remove the fruits, you might get more flowers/fruits developing.  :)

Be warned, some of those grubs can be absolutely miniscule.
Some information about nematodes (other suppliers are available)
