What can we grow (that is edible) in these tiny pots?

Hi all

The photo says it all. What edible plants can we grow in these tiny coloured pots. I guess it would have to be something that is comfortable dangling down? Any ideas please? For clarification, the two planters below are growing Raspberry and Strawberries.

Thanks in advance.

Do they have drainage holes in them? If not you could keep them full of water and grow bunches of watercress in some of them. But I think they’re too small for most things. Maybe a single trailing nasturtium for salads and sandwiches in each one … but you’d have to do a lot of watering …

Can you give some idea of the pot size, height and diameter please ? Do they have drainage holes, or are you happy to drill some ?

Herbs, like Thymes maybe.  Mint will need too much water and need a bigger pot.

Lettuce? But they might cook if they are in full sun.

The size of these is similar to a Large Tea Mug.

You could sow a few chive seeds,   They’re quite small though.

Edible weeds might be your best bet - ones that grow in cracks in the paving. Things like alpine strawberries might cope. Land cress. Purslane. Creeping thyme
