Help with hydrangeas

The leaf edges of my mop head hydrangea are dry and crispy despite regular watering. It’s in a pot in good quality compost

What size is the plant/pot? What sort of compost? Is it in sun or shade? How much water do you give it and how often? All these things will affect the answer to the problem.

The leaves were probably nipped by frost whilst they were still curled up - that's why it's just the edges of the leaves that are affected.
Both of mine have it too this year :(
It looks a bit naff, but won't harm the plant

It’s in a terracotta pot in a John Innes 3 . Only a young plant in semi shade.

The problem with terracotta is that it's porous. Fine for plants which enjoy good drainage, not quite so good for ones that need to hang onto moisture to do well.
Hydrangeas fall into the latter category  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
