Flowers not opened

Hello everyone 😊
I have a gorgeous allium Sicilian which has flowered every year with beautiful bells of pink and green. This year it has grown well, the flowers developed but then failed to open. I haven’t moved it or changed anything 🙁 it’s in we’ll drained soils in half shade/half sun and has done really well up to this year. The plant itself looks strong and healthy, it’s just the flowers didn’t open. Any info/help will be appreciated

    @doboface Welcome. I just wondered if it is either very dry or in more shade than in previous years?
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    Thanks for replying. The strange thing is that it is in exactly the same position as previously, surrounding plants are no larger so no shadier than before. Very odd 😳
