    Quite so and well worth a bit of effort. They flower from June to the first frosts and are among the easiest of plants- as long as you stop the slugs.

    Yeah, don't give up. Dahlias are amazing!
    Just try different techniques to stop them.
    I cut the top off plastics pots with large lips to stop them, but I'm also going to stick scotbrite to it, as that's really rough and should stop them completely! As well as some pellets and maybe nemotodes.
    Go full assault on them!

    Edit - all of mine have recovered now and are growing well.

    I'm waiting for mine to recover as well... a barrier made from coke bottle and copper tape, plus relatively dry night time weather should help.
