Anyone know what these might be? And how big they get?

I bought some plants of someone and at the last minute they threw these in as well, I didn't think to ask. 

One looks a bit sunflower ish, no idea about the other.

    So the last 2 photos are possibly a perennial sunflower? Is there any way of knowing how might it might get? I'm trying to work out where to plant it. I'm running out of space and keep acquiring more plants!

    I've been googling the one in the first pic and think it might be a goldenrod? and I'm reading it can be quite tall, so might need to go towards the back of a bed maybe? 

    Do you think either would be suitable for a big pot?
