Cuckoo Spit

I seam to have what I call cuckoo spit on a couple of plants in my garden more than usual. The lavender bush seems to be dying back. Does anyone else have this problem?

The concern about Cuckoo Spit dates from 2019.

There was a feature on Cuckoo Spit and Frog hoppers on Springwatch yesterday evening. There was no mention of any current concern.

I saw the MSM article and thought it a bit odd as cuckoo spit has been around for ever just I have a bit more than normal. Also just looked at RHS site good information on there. Sounds really off to me trying to get people to report if they have cuckoo spit in their garden.
