Blue arrow juniper, help required.

Hi all,

First post and could do with a little advice.
I have 4 blue arrow junipers in my front garden have been there for atleast a year now, in the last week or so the bark has gone very dark and alot of brown is appearing in the leaves/needles
I've attached a picture, if anyone can identify the issue and a solution if one exists i would appreciate it very much, i dont want to lose them!

Hello @michael.pollock86yojt8il9  and welcome to the forum 😊

Have your trees been regularly and generously watered?  … we had a very dry spring and I’ve found that below the top few inches of the soil, down where the roots are, it’s been dry as dust … and trees need plenty of tlc in their first couple of years after planting.

  • Doverfromabove thank you for the reply, they did go almost a week without water, I dont have a sprinkler and other things got in the way and totally forgot.
If it is just a watering issue im hoping they can be saved as im staying on top of it now.

    Thanks again!

I wouldn’t use a sprinkler for trees. You need to really the water to soak right down to the root area rather than the surface.

I would give each tree a bucket full of water three times a week poured gently at the base of the tree so that it soaks right down.
    🤞
