Does anyone have any experience with growing this particular plant?

I planted mine last year and it did really well, flowering continuously from June to September pretty much. I trimmed back the flowered stems in the Autumn and left it to its own devices over the winter, but in Spring I noticed quite a few brown dead leaves.

As we've moved into May and June it looks worse and worse.  Some of the leaves have a red edge to them and the older leaves are dying. Some of the stems also look like they're rotten at the base.  I sprayed it last week with a general purpose fungicide and I notice there is a hint of new growth with some new leaves appearing (bottom left of the picture) but I'm still not sure it will survive.

Are there any diseases or pests that they're particularly susceptible to?  Any ideas would be very welcome.

Thanks

That soil looks very dry and they are moisture loving plants.

I know what you mean, although it's a clay soil and if you scratch the surface it's damp underneath. I've been watering regularly.

Could be that I need to move it to another part of the garden if it survives.
