Clematis

Does anyone know this clematis, it is prolific and the deepest purple. I love it and would love to buy another but have forgotten it s name. Thank you

    Could be Etoile Violette. Does it have a paler stripe on the petal.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    It doent seem to have a stripe, seems to be all one colour, much darker than picture, very deep purple. Thank you for replying

    Etoile Violette - great clematis and very vigorous when happy, producing more stems from the base each year and thus more flower power, so why not try another one instead?

    There’s so many clematis cultivars. Probably hundreds available, it is one of the Clematis viticella cultivars, they are wonderful, very floriferous and the easiest to prune.

    The clematis on the web site I gave above lists 4000+ cultivars.  It can be searched by colour, group, height, flowering time, pruning group, aspect.......
