First one looks like one of the Spireas, and the 2nd one is yellow Loosestrife -Lysimachia, and it can be a real nuisance.

Thanks @Hostafan1yrs his garden is absolutely riddled with bindweed. He keeps pulling it out but knows it’s deep in the soil do you have any good tips to get on top of it? Is the yellow one with keeping for pollinators and embrace a kind of wildlife garden? Xx

I find it a real thug, but it does like wet ground, so it might be ok in drier gardens. It was useful in our last garden because it was one of the few things rabbits didn't eat.

I'd stick canes into the ground and let it wind up those, then spray with Roundup when there's enough leaf cover.

I should have clarified - I was talking about the loosestrife not the bindweed  ;)

It spreads very readily if it's happy.  :)

  • I put some by the front gate in 1987 and, due to judicious digging up round the edges, it has now moved 5' away.
