Bee hotels ... do they work?

I'm tempted to make or buy a bee hotel (wooden box full of bamboo lengths etc). Has anyone had one that worked?

Hello hiacedrifter. I have a couple of bee hotels that are mainly used by leaf cutter bees.

I made one years ago, had one leaf cutter bee in it, so if it homed one bee it was worth it. 😊

There is a long thread, running over the past few years, on supporting solitary bees and how different nest boxes perform. Some people have made bamboo boxes themselves and found them successful. Width of the tube, depth and position are all important.
