Runner bean tip broken on planting

When I planted out my runner beans, on a couple of them I accidentally snapped the stem on the growing tip. Clumsy, I know, but is the plant useless now or will it grow a new leading stem?

    It'll probably bush out, if you're lucky.

    If it snapped above a leaf joint it will be fine, I pick out the growing shoot anyway.
    mine now have two strong leaders which I prefer to the one original stem.
    If it snapped from the bottom,  under the leaves, it may not grow.

    Pigeons nicked a few of my growing tips but I was going to pinch them out myself anyway like Lyn.

    Thanks for the replies. Lyn, the stem snapped above the leaf joint. The stem snapped due to it being a bit windy when I was planting them out & was trying to tie them onto the canes, but the main stem up to the leaf joint was fine as it was sturdier.

    That will be fine, Francis,  it will grow two shoots now,  stands to reason,  it’s what you do with Sweet Peas, cosmos,  lots of plants benefit from the tops taken out.
    Since I’ve been doing that with beans I only sow half the amount I used to sow.
