Tall plants for part shade area by fence

Hello. I have a border along a north east facing fence I've removed some plants at the back that weren't doing well and wondering what to add. Needs to be tall colourful perennial plants as space is 1m along the fence and 40 cm wide (due to a drain cover in the bed). Gets early morning sun in summer, but as back of border would say dappled shade due to plants in front.
I was thinking of perennial foxgloves, as tall colourfull and good for bees. But do you have any other ideas?
Thank you :)

We have hollyhocks in a North facing area that do very well but of course they need to develop before flowering size (second year). Agapanthus could be another plant. It is only when the flowers come up that you get the height but wonderful blue flowers that bees love.

Actaea can be pretty nice in that situation, there's a lovely tall one called 'Queen of Sheba' if you can find it.

Polemonium would be fine there. Camassias if it's not dry.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
