Viburnum disease. Any ideas please?!

Our viburnum this year has developed a dead patch. It is probably around 20years old. It seems to be spreading so have done our best to cut out the bad bits. Having said that some still look like they may recover, having new shoots. Pictures below.

@Tobykeane Looks like it is a very congested V Bodnantense Dawn, has pink flowers through the winter. After flowering in early spring some of the stems/branches should be removed at the base. If this is done yearly or every other year it makes space for new shoots at the bottom these will evently be the new flowering branches.

We prune, trim every year but this year for some reason a patch has become dead looking. Looks like it has got some sort of disease. None of the other part of the bush seams to have this issue although stems from this part seem to be starting to affect other parts of the bush on different stems

Is all the dieback in the centre of the shrub? These will be all the old stems/branches. It grows outwards. First photo shows an old branch. Perhaps other could add their thoughts.
