Why did my cumin die?

I grew cumin from seed in the greenhouse. I hardened it off  then planted it out, after the risk of frost,  in pots. It died. Any idea why? I had oregano in one of the same pots which thrived.

    I'm not sure if cumin would be hardy in the UK, so it was possibly too cold for it. Not something I've ever tried to grow though. 
    Someone else may be able to advise.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
