Red campion spread?

ManderMander Posts: 349
I've got a plant in a pot whose origin is a bit of a mystery. I don't remember if I bought it or if it is a volunteer. Google says it's red campion and it looks pretty secure.

I'm moving some plants around tomorrow and I was thinking of planting it out in the ground. Does it spread a lot though? I searched but didn't find anything that quite addressed this question.

I have lots of it in the wildlife area in the wood and yes it does spread but isn't invasive as it's easily pulled out or cut the seed heads off to stop it from spreading. I just enjoy it while it's there.

I have a patch of it and it seeds and spreads quite prolifically. I have to pull loads of it up as it encroaches on the border.  But as @Uff says, it's very easy to pull up so I don't consider it a problem and happy to accomodate a small patch of it.

@SlipperyElm I might keep it in a pot then! I've got enough problems with things spreading prolifically...
