White flower identification please

I'm unsure what to say about this plant. It has more petals than leaves. The stem is hanging down from a ledge. There are some more leaves up nearer its roots but those leaves live in darkness, and the leaves visible next to this flower appear scorched by sunlight. Bizarre?

The stem looks like a clematis but I don't know which one. Others might ID it.

It looks a bit weird in the photo.
If it's a clematis it could be Clematis ‘Maria Skłodowska Curie.

Well, I'm learning. From RHS "'Maria Sklodowska-Curie' is a deciduous climber, flowering in late-spring to early summer on old wood.." hence the dead leaves and dark stems.

I still think its bizarre that any plant would flower without light or the capacity for photosynthesis, but a Clematis clearly will.
