What is damaging my new rose bush?

I just bought a new potted rose online (David Austin's Tottering-by-gently) and it arrived yesterday as it was getting dark. This morning I decided to check if there's anything wrong with the plant and found this mottling on a few leaves. I couldn't really find any insects. Some of the smallest leaves are yellowing but that could be due to transport. Help please!

Good morning @robinviolets and welcome to the forum  :)

Congratulations on your choice ... Tottering-By-Gently is a lovely rose.  I wouldn't be at all concerned by that little bit of 'damage' ... just a little bit of insect attention and weather ... your rose has been living outside and will show evidence of 'life' ... but there's nothing there that would worry me ... it looks to be a very healthy and happy rose.

Plant it in a well-prepared spot and look forward to those beautiful buttery blooms ... it'd be lovely if you come back and show us a picture when they appear.  It's one of my favourite roses.   :)

  • Thank you! I will leave it be then. It will be so exciting to see it bloom, I will share when it happens  :)
