Pretty much all roses suffer some dieback occasionally, some more than others. Its normally caused by cold winters, a late frost or sometimes for no discernible reason and nothing to be concerned about. Just cut the dead bits off down to healthy wood with a sharp pair of secateurs. If you get whole canes dying back in summer that could be a sign of something else, so keep an eye on it just in case.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
