Distorted Cherry Laurel leaves
Hello,
I planted 70 rootball Cherry Laurels last October and they seem to have taken well. However, the new leaf growth on some of the plants is small, distorted and browning around the edges.
Some Google searching suggests a fungal/bacteria attack but none of the pictures quite matched the look of my plants. I have attached some pictures, does anyone recognise the condition and if so what would you suggest? I will spray the plants with a fungicide in the next dry spell as a precaution.
Thanks for your help.

If it's getting plenty of moisture, and the soil's half decent, it'll shrug that off. Mine often get bits and pieces of damage from insects etc., but it doesn't affect them long term.
They can also get a bit of damage on the edges due to frost, so that could be a possibility, especially if some are more exposed than others.
They look very close to that wall, so it could be quite dry there, so make sure they're getting sufficient moisture until at least through this summer.
You can cut out any damaged foliage
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
thanks
Some good news..........the plants are growing well with no signs of distortion on the new leaves. Last year I gave the effected plants two treatments of Provanto Fungas Fighter (as prescribed on the bottle), fed them well (bone meal mix) and kept them watered (at the base, not on the leaves). I am new to gardening so it may be beginners luck...........and of course some good advice from this forum. Hopefully they are past the issue and will continue to grow well.
I hope this helps.
