Cherry Bush Problem

Hi all!

Novice gardener looking for advice. We've had a Cherry Bush since last July and it over wintered well in our greenhouse coming back to life in March. There now seems to be issues with it but I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. It has recently been repotted to see if that helps the issue of brown/yellowing leaves. That seemingly hasn't helped at all though. Any advice or views on what the issue is are greatly appreciated!

What kind of cherry is it? Most are hardy, but better in the ground if they're going to be larger.  :)
It's outgrowing the pot by the look of it, which is possibly the problem, as well as the growing medium. If it's staying potted, it'll need that refreshed.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thank you for the comments. Any advice on what growing medium I should be using? I think it's a Porthos Cherry Bush.

If it's that one, I think you'll struggle to keep it in a container, unless it's a very large one.
It's a soil based medium you need for anything in a container. Compost isn't enough for a shrub.
You can get soil based products in GCs. Look for John Innes - there are various types.
Just ensure the drainage is good too - some grit mixed through will help. Soil based mediums hold water more readily, which is an obvious advantage for a container during summer, but it can mean they retain too much in winter conditions  :)
I expect you'll need feed of some kind. I don't grow cherries, so I can't advise on that, but I'd expect a slow release food would be most suitable.

Thank you. We have very stoney thick clay soil in our garden so I'm not sure it would take well to being planted directly in the borders. I'll repot with soil as you've suggested and hopefully that should resolve some of the issues!
