Petunias

Hi

I planted some petunias in window baskets last week and some appear to be turning brown.

I put some gravel at bottom and mixed compost with horse manure as I sowed part of my back lawn using horse manure.

Should I not have used horse manure for window baskets?

Thanks

    Rotten down

I have 4 window boxes and 2 of them have started to flower really well other 2 or not and some petunias are turning brown.

Hmm. Then something else is going on. How do they compare in terms of sunlight? Were they all healthy well rooted plants? Very odd.

All boxes at front of house so get same sunlight, yes they were healthy when I bought them.

Should I add miracle grow or would that be too much?

No - don't add more food. If they get very wet, they rot off. They need moisture, but they need good drainage. Are they under a gutter that overflows for example?
    Have you got a photo?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • No just on windowsill.

Maybe too much water will not water for couple of days and see how that goes
