Magnolia tree problem

Spotted funny fuzzy things on my magnolia today and despite googling can't decide what they are and if I should be worried.   Does anyone know?  Thanks

I had a similar issue recently. Apparently they are scale insects. They're sap suckers. The white bits are eggs. The RHS has a useful page about them if you search for "RHS scale insects" on a search engine.

Scale insects … they’re laying eggs in the white fuzzy stuff … scrape them off with a blunt knife or scrub them
off with a scrubbing brush and soapy water.
They’re a nuisance because they weaken shrubs by sucking sap … but not disastrous if you do the above and keep an eye open gif more of the little blighted. 😡
