Can someone identify these trees, please?

I've just demolished and erected a fence in place of the previous owner's (it was installed very poorly!) and noticed the house to the back has planted three of these.

Can someone help in identifying them? Are they invasive? Will it's roots damage the fence post concrete? Do they grow high? She has placed them where, if they grow tall, it's going to block most of the sunlight I get unfortunately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Conifers of some kind. Would need a close up that isn't affected by the sun to get a decent ID.
Most grow pretty big, but are slow growing for the first five or six years, and most won't take being hard pruned. They need to be trimmed regularly and lightly to keep them at a sensible size. They won't affect the concrete.

There are height limits to hedging, and three plants the same constitutes a hedge.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

They look like a type of conifer, but which one l don't know. Certain they're not Leylandii or Thuja, could be a type of Picea perhaps.
  • My guess is they are Cupressus macrocarapa 'Goldcrest'. (Monterey Cypress)
They'll grow to about 5m - and no, they're unlikely to damage the fence - they may suck up a bit of moisture though.
I quite like them - but I like conifers in general.
