Tree/hedge ID please

Can anyone ID this hedge, please. The leaves look almost like maple - it has been used as a hedge and the tree stands next to it.

    It's not a plant I have, but there are quite a few where I walk with my dog, both in the hedgerows and as trees - they look really good and the autumn colours are fantastic.
    According to the RHS softwood cuttings taken around now would be good -
